Indoor Planting:
Sow the seeds 5mm deep in trays of moist compost, be careful not to over-water. Store in a warm place, an airing cupboard is an ideal location. Ensure that the compost is moist at all times

Growing On:
When the seedlings are strong enough to handle, they can be transplanted into bigger pots or trays. Be careful when easing the roots out as they can be easily damaged. Don't overcrowd the plants. Keep the pots in a warm, light position and turn regularly. Once all chance of frost has passed, the vegetables can be transplanted into growing beds outside. Keep the tomatoes in an unheated glasshouse until June

Outdoor Planting:
Beetroot & Lettuce: March - July
Onion: March - May
For the Beetroot & Lettuce keep 12" (30cm) between rows, thin the Beetroot to 4" (10cm) and the Lettuce to 10" (25cm)
For the Spring Onion keep 6" (15cm) between rows. No thinning is required.

Lettuce Little Gem:
One of the most popular varieties producing compact crunchy lettuces with an excellent flavour. Perfect in salads
Keep well watered in dry conditions

Spring Onion White Lisbon:
The most popular salad variety, producing quick growing, tasty spring onions
These are easy to grow and require very little maintenance, keep free from weeds

Beetroot Boltardy:
A wonderful Beetroot to grow early. It has a great flavour and has a good resistance to 'bolting.' Ideal for freezing. Boil in Salted water and when cooled, the skin can be removed by gently rubbing.
Twist off the leaves to prevent bleeding

Tomato Moneymaker:
A reliable old favourite producing heavy crops of tasty medium sized tomatoes
Support plants when necessary and limit the plants to 4-5 trusses. Feed regularly with a tomato feed
